A 1:24-scale
rendition of Bruce Wheeler's first Washington, D.C.
based
AA/Fueler, this diecast "Wheeler Dealer" dragster model is
presented
as it appeared in mid-1967 trim. Driven that year by the
late
Al Friedman*,
the Dealer was a crowd pleaser wherever it ran.
.
During
his one full season driving the car, Friedman recorded a best ET
of 6.83
seconds. @ 225 MPH while running
at strips across the country,
among
them the legendary Lions Drag Strip (Long Beach, California) and
Indianapolis
Raceway Park. At the end of 1967 Al received
Drag Racing
Magazine's
inaugural Rookie of the Year award, a well-deserved honor!
To learn
more about Al, and the history of Bruce's
"career"
as a Fuel Dragster team owner, please

the official Wheeler
Dealer website.
/
*Maryland's
"Bub" Reese became the car's second driver, in April, 1968. Later,
in 1969,
Bub continued on as the driver of Bruce's all new Wheeler Dealer 2.
The WD diecast was
a limited edition of 3500 individually numbered
pieces. Each car came
packaged in a colorful box that featured period
graphics and an original
drawing by National Dragster's John Jodauga.
.
Brought to you by
the folks at 1320 Inc., this model was
the second release
in their "The Fuelers" series of historic,
